Korean syllabus.

Korean is examined across the four macro-skills, and its distinguishing difficulty is the speech level system: the same content in the wrong level is a register error, not a stylistic one. Particles, verb endings and honorifics carry the grammar, and word order places the verb at the end.

WACE · SCSASecond Language and Background Language courses run Units 1–4, with a SCSA written examination in listening, reading and writing plus a separate practical oral examination.

How to improve

Where the marks usually go: Honorifics apply to the person you are talking about, not only the person you are talking to. Getting that boundary wrong is the classic error in this task.

Three mistakes that cost Korean marks every year

Mixing speech levels within one response. Consistency is separately marked and is the most common Korean writing error.
Confusing 은/는 with 이/가. Topic and subject are different functions, and listening questions exploit the difference.
Using honorifics about yourself, which is a status error rather than a grammar one.
